Founded in 1989, it is the biggest student association in Europe. The network's mission is to foster student mobility in Higher Education, and to provide opportunities for cultural understanding.
Greece has been part of the Erasmus Student Network since 1991, when the first local Greek ESN section was founded.
Currently, there are 20 local ESN sections with more than 200 members, active in the biggest Universities of the country, in Athens and Thessaloniki, as well as in Patras, Ioannina, Crete, Komotini, Lamia, Larissa, Volos and the Aegean.
The Greek ESN sections receive in total more than 4.500 incoming international students every year.
Thanks to its multitude of activities for the orientation of incoming students and the preparation of outgoing students, ESN Greece is proud to have the full support of the State Scholarships Foundation (ΙΚΥ).
